Trees Atlanta is a nationally recognized non-profit community group that protects and improves Atlantas urban forest by planting, conserving, and educating. Founded in 1985, Trees Atlanta works tirelessly to address Atlantas tree loss, protect its forests, and create new greenspace. Empowered by its wonderful community of volunteers, Trees Atlanta serves the metro Atlanta area, and has grown to become one of Atlantas most widely known and supported non-profit organizations.
Trees Atlanta is looking for an enthusiastic, committed individual excited to join a hard-working, mission-driven team as the Senior Manager of Donor Relations. This individual will play a key role in cultivating relationships with individual donors and institutional funders and growing revenue to meet the ever-increasing demand for our services, with a goal of approximately $1M. This position will also hire and manage a Development Coordinator whose primary responsibilities will include giving support, grant writing, and tracking.

Individual Donor Relations and Board Giving:

Own all individual fundraising programs, appeals, and donor relations.

Hire, train, and manage a Development Coordinator responsible for individual giving support, grant writing, and tracking for private foundations and community group grants.

Lead all individual giving initiatives, including direct mail, e-mail, and social media appeals, and create new programs such as a stewardship plan, monthly giving circle, major gift approach, and planned giving program.

Develop and oversee donor acquisition and cultivation strategy.

Cultivate potential donors, current donors, and Board Members to develop and strengthen relationships..

Support and empower members of the Board and Advisory Board to maximize their fundraising potential.

Collaborate with the Development and Marketing teams to execute fundraising events, focusing on improving attendance and increasing individual giving revenue.

Oversee donor data integrity in Salesforce.

Oversee timely and accurate gift acknowledgement.
Private Foundation and Community Group Grants:

Partner with the Business Development Director to oversee the grant portfolio and revenue goals.

Collaborate with the Development Coordinator to evaluate the potential use of AI-powered grant assistant tools.

Set and meet all grant-related development goals.

Develop and maintain an intimate working knowledge of Trees Atlantas current programs, priority initiatives, and the grant funding landscape.

Lead conversation on the benefits and risks of a particular grant, seeking opportunities with the highest return on investment.

Collaborate with the Development Coordinator to maintain and implement grant calendar activities, including application, touchpoints, and reporting.

Work with the Development Coordinator and Program Staff to strategically match programmatic initiatives with grant opportunities.

Create a stewardship plan and calendar to develop relationships and strengthen existing relationships, including joining key volunteer projects.
What you need:

3 years of relevant experience, management experience preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to act as an ambassador for the organization.

High ethical standards, discretion, and confidentiality in working with donor information.

Exceptional project management, organizational, and time management skills, with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple programs/appeals simultaneously.

Self-motivation with the ability to work independently as well part of a team, instilling confidence and trust among fellow staff and donors

Creativity, as well as analytical ability, to maximize fundraising outcomes

Flexibility and ability to adapt to shifting priorities

Prior experience with Google Workspace, Excel, Word, Salesforce, and/or other CRM systems preferred
