GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB :
Responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on ground support equipment such as tugs, vehicles, belt loader, air conditioning units, air start units, ground power units, water and lavatory carts in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES :
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
While performing the duties of a GSE Mechanic the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Ladder work required. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 50-70 pounds. Ability to work in outside weather conditions on an airport ramp around aircraft and the confined areas of the airport. Specific vision abilities required by this job.
Other Requirements :
High School diploma or GED plus one year experience and / or equivalent combination of education and experience
Prior GSE or heavy equipment experience preferred
Must have your own tools
Must possess valid driver’s license
Must pass a pre-employment drug test and 10 year background check.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
Must be able to work a variety of assigned shifts including evenings and weekends. Subject to emergency call-in.
