What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ground Service Equipment Technician position at Trego/Dugan Aviation?
Salary Range:$18.00 To $25.00 Hourly Salary commensurate with experience.
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on ground support equipment such as tugs, vehicles, belt loaders, air conditioning units, air start units, ground power units, and water and lavatory carts in a timely manner.
Perform rebuilding of ground support equipment such as tugs, vehicles, belt loaders, air conditioning units, air start units, ground power units, and water and lavatory carts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspect and maintain ground support equipment used in operations.
- Troubleshoot, repair and/or overhaul ground support equipment.
- Diagnose problems using test equipment and applicable manuals.
- Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements
- Inspect machines, engines, transmissions, etc., and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues
- Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability
- Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems
- Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components
- Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery
- Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users
- Keep logs of work and report on issues
- Completion of GSE paperwork as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Travel will be required 25% of the time.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED
Have 2 years of GSE mechanical experience or 3 years of heavy mechanical experience.
Must have experience in diesel and gas engines and various transmissions.
Must have some hydraulic experience.
Must have some level of cutting and welding experience.
Must have your own tools
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
