Tasks and Responsibilities
- Lead and organize the production operations, utilizing manpower to ensure that maximum capabilities are met, as well as ensuring safety and efficiency of team members.
- Coach employees and work with them to develop their skills and talents to maintain a productive and efficient work environment.
- Review each employee’s performance and efficiency.
- Enforce company policies and procedures.
- Able to apply problem solving methods for operational and non-conforming issues. This includes troubleshooting and evaluating molding processes within documented specifications.
- Provide timely and detailed communication/information to other supervisors, managers, and departments.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions and customer specifications and drawings.
- Use and set up measuring tools such as rulers, calipers, scales, etc.
- Run machines, secondary operations, or other equipment as needed.
- Maintain a safe work environment for all employees on the production floor
- Plans the use of facilities, equipment, and personnel to meet current and future manufacturing requirements.
- Acts as the liaison between management and the workforce to maintain the highest possible level of employee/employer relationships.
- Provides leadership to grow and mentor staff and provide recognition, as appropriate.
- Expedites, implements, and coordinates approved policies and procedures to resolve personnel and manufacturing problems.
- Drives on time delivery to ensure Customer satisfaction and support company KPIs.
- Delegates responsibilities and appropriate authority to staff personnel to achieve maximum efficiency through proper use of skills, man-hours, machines, and equipment.
- Instructs and assists personnel and inspects work to ensure compliance with specifications as to dimensions, tolerances, and materials.
- Uses proper safety devices, equipment, and methods and maintenance of general housekeeping; maintains a constant awareness of hazardous conditions and practices.
- Participates in plant management meetings to assist in planning and to make recommendations on matters related to manufacturing.
- Analyzes manufacturing data and prepares reports, as requested.
- Implements general administrative and technical programs such as communications, staffing, and employee training.
- Drafts and conducts periodic performance reviews in a timely manner.
- Performs duties in cross-trained areas, as required.
Education and Experience
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of progressive experience in manufacturing
Desired:
- 4 year degree or equivalent
- Experience with clean room manufacturing
- Supervisory experience
