The Buyer leverages overall purchasing excellence to manage vendor relationships and procure supplies and materials. Will support Menomonie WI site 75% of time and Litchfield MN 25%.
Tasks and Responsibilities
The Buyer leverages overall purchasing excellence to manage vendor relationships and procure supplies and materials. Will support Menomonie WI site 75% of time and Litchfield MN 25%.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Using approved supplier base, processes purchase orders using the ERP
- Partners with Accounts Payable to resolve invoicing issues.
- Responsible for negotiating best pricing and managing vendor relationships.
- Determines safety stock levels for supplies and materials and explores alternate sources.
- Communicates with internal customers on purchasing activities.
- Builds and adapts processes and work instructions to enhance supplier relationships.
- Complies with quality, safety, environmental, internal, and customer mandated procedures.
- Provides timely responses to SCARs, NCRs, and other quality concerns.
- Prepares and executes bid specifications and RFQs in accordance with Trelleborg Purchasing Excellence guidelines.
- 4-year degree in Engineering, Operations Management or any related field
- 8 years operations experience
- 5 years' experience leading a team.
- Experience with Lean Sigma methodologies
- Desired: Experience with clean room/medical device manufacturing
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
- Ability to communicate clearly by conveying and receiving ideas, information and direction effectively
- Ability to demonstrate adequate job knowledge to deliver a world class performance
- Ability to challenge oneself to consistently meet all goals and deadlines
- Willingness to strive for excellence by producing work that is free of errors and mistakes

- Ability to read specifications, standards, catalogs and other maintenance literature pertaining to the buyer function
- Up to 25% road travel (approximately one week per month)
- Minimal travel to for training and collaboration as needed
