What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Estimating Engineer position at Trelleborg Group?
Job Description :
- Estimate, quote, provide notes, expectations and interpret prints as well as determine work centers, establish standards, and recommend print revisions.
- Consult with appropriate departments and investigate costs for accurate and thorough quotes.
- Support development of costing systems that provide current and accurate cost information.
- Conduct contract reviews on tooling orders.
- Quote with the best technology available on the marketplace.
- Ensure evaluation of latest technology and incorporation into how we quote by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
- Put thought into how we quote by looking at different factors. e.g. press types, cycle times, manufacturing location, tool types etc.
- Challenge manufacturing assumptions today to ensure we are driving continuous improvement.
- Come to the quote review meetings with the best possible quote scenarios and present this as industry standard with having done the research in ensuring so.
- Meet quote lead times, commitment dates and be capable of estimating all Trelleborg processes.
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Visit manufacturing locations to keep up to date and look for opportunities to improve cost.
- Able to complete financial plan as well as financial results.
- Works effectively in a team environment contributing to team goals and objectives, with interactions within the Engineering Department, Headquarters Departments and relevant Plant personnel.
- Performs other duties and assumes accountabilities as apparent or as delegated, including mutually agreed upon objectives.
