About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to oversee the development and implementation of manufacturing processes. This individual will ensure the manufacturing and process engineering teams work together effectively and lead the development of equipment to aid in the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Review new business opportunities and assess risks to manufacturing, providing alternatives to customers in partnership with Product Line Managers and Estimators.
- Monitor plant capacity and implement solutions with leadership team buy-in.
- Analyze and design lean manufacturing cells using effective systems and simulation tools to optimize space, equipment, material, and personnel.
- Assist in developing plant layout by planning the rearrangement of facilities, equipment, and operations for better space utilization.
- Work closely with new product development, quality, and maintenance personnel to prevent problems with products and tooling/fixtures/automation.
- Evaluate and implement all manufacturing safety regulatory policies and procedures at all times.
- Stay informed about new manufacturing technologies and equipment to reduce costs through efficiencies.
- Support all current and new product introductions.
- Determine and eliminate root causes and diminish occurrences in the manufacturing process.
- Mentor and coach new Manufacturing Engineers and other employees as needed.
- Maintain department-related documentation (training, work instructions).
- Lead the implementation and ownership of new capacity or improvement-related projects.
- Assist in reducing costs through re-engineering products, materials, or processes.
