Pay rate : $21 / hr
Schedule : Monday-Friday 7 : 45am - 3 : 45pm
Location : Trellis School - 14450 York Rd Suite A Sparks, MD 21152

The Trellis School is a K-12 non-public school serving children with autism based in Sparks, MD (Baltimore County). Our Autism Instructors work one-on-one with our learners and receive extensive training and coaching in behavior management. The schools educational program is designed to build strong foundational communication, learner readiness, academic, social and play skills in young learners with a focus on using Verbal Behavior (VB).
Responsibilities :
Provide support in physical management and the implementation of learners Behavior Intervention Plans, including but not limited to blocking and redirecting challenging behavior, holds, and the management of seclusion events
Completing necessary documentation for seclusion and physical restraint events in compliance with COMAR and MSDE guidelines
Assist in implementing learners individualized behavior, toileting, and feeding protocols
Accurately complete daily behavior data tracking and input responsibilities
Implement feedback and instructional recommendations made by school team (teacher, BCBA, program specialists)
Demonstrate positive work ethic by actively seeking supportive tasks, offering suggestions for program improvement, and receiving constructive feedback in a professional manner
Create and prepare instructional materials for learners as needed
Participate in internal team meetings and high profile meetings for students
Support general school procedures : such as arrival, lunch schedules, dismissal, cleaning tasks, field trips, etc.

Qualifications :
High School Diploma required. Associate's / Bachelors degree preferred.

Proficiency with Technology- Knowledge of Trellis specific web-based data collection systems and Microsoft Word programs (including word, excel, power point)

Problem solvingthe individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully
Multi-tasking the individual is able to work on multiple projects at one time.
Quality controlthe individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, monitors own work to ensure quality and applies feedback to improve performance.
Safety and securitythe individual observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.
Must attend all mandatory trainings.
Must be able to speak and read English. The ability to read and interpret documents related to Maryland State Curriculum, accounting, policy and procedures manual(s), safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. The ability to write routine reports, letters and emails as well as general correspondence. Have the ability to speak effectively with special needs children and in describing general work needs and to speak effectively in interpersonal situations.
