What are the responsibilities and job description for the Branch Manager- ON SITE position at Tremont Credit Union?
Under the direction of the Senior Branch Manager ensure the highest quality service to Members in the areas of account transactions, loan applications, new accounts, member service and problem resolution by on-boarding, training, coaching, mentoring and supervising all branch staff. Uphold all compliance responsibilities and maintain audit-readiness. All responsibilities are to be performed in compliance with TCU standard operating procedures, TCU policies, applicable state and Federal regulations and applicable state and federal law, as well as according to TCU's Core Values and Performance Standards.
Essential Responsibilities
Manage compliant and audit-ready branch activity, including transaction volume and efficiency, call volume, teller transaction quality and correction, loan volume, and new accounts generation.
Promote key products, promotions and sales within the branch by supervising and coaching staff members to recognize and create product and service sales opportunities. Model, coach and train on cross selling to maximize profitability and ensure a high quality of service for members.
Maintain a highly motivated, well-trained staff that is knowledgeable on all products and services of the credit union. Resolve internal issues or concerns with staff quickly and as harmoniously as possible, consistent with TCU's policies and procedures. Recommend or effect corrective disciplinary action.
Direct the branch daily balance of vault, cash recycler, ATM, and coin machines. Buy and sell cash from and to the vault. Receive cash from Loomis. Bring all over & short differences to Senior Branch Manager's and Accounting Department's attention as soon as known in order to make corrections.
Manage the security and safety of the branch, with responsibility to analyze security and safety policies and procedures, and to alert staff of any changes
Hold staff meetings at least monthly. Identify areas for improvement, changes in procedures, new developments or changes in products or services. Keep staff up-to-date on trends, changes in rates, promotions, and general credit union information. Encourage the exchange of ideas
Analyze staffing requirements on an on-going basis. Assist in the recruitment and selection of quality applicants for openings at the branch, ensuring that the credit union is staffed with competent staff members
Write, schedule and give annual performance reviews in accordance with TCU's policies and procedures.
Prepare, implement and supervise the budget for the branch that is consistent with the overall strategic plan and budget of the credit union. Ensure that the Senior Branch Manager is kept fully informed of issues affecting the branch.
Develop, apply and evaluate policies and procedures for the branch. Ensure that policies are communicated to and understood by the staff. Monitor the functions and control procedures of the branch to ensure compliance in all areas set forth by the National Credit Union Administration and the Mass. Division of Banks.
Attend branch management meetings and report on areas of responsibility as requested by the Operations Manager
Take consumer and residential loan applications. Follow appropriate lending guidelines, regulations and established credit union policies and procedures for processing and closing consumer loans
Develop and monitor new business within the community (i.e., new SEG's)
Provide occasional Saturday coverage to other branches as necessary
Comply with all procedures pertaining to the Credit Union's policies of BSA, AML, USA Patriot Act, and OFAC. Attend training, and to keep abreast of all information regarding changes and updates. Report to management any violations of these policies.
Manage and recommend the purchase of supplies.
Timely completion of own performance evaluation/ and review and submission of supervised employees' evaluations.
Other duties related to TCU's operations or mission as assigned.
Required Experience & Skills
- At least five years of related or direct experience in a service, branch, sales, and operations role within a financial institution that encompasses a broad knowledge of products and services.
- At least one year experience supervising staff
- Ability to recognize and focus on critical issues and flexibility to balance and respond to competing needs within the organization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, or software, applications, and SaaS currently used by TCU and assigned to this position
- Can perform responsibilities accurately and timely with moderate and reasonable supervision, with minimal reminders and corrections
- Evident habits of organized workspace and materials, and detail-orientation
- Clear and effective written and oral communication
- Critical thinking to evaluate sources of information and draw conclusions
Salary : $70,897 - $105,189
