TrendHR is seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Manager to join our clients metal fabrication company in the Garland area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing quality systems, specifically within ISO 9001:2015, and familiarity with AS9100 standards. As a Quality Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring that the company’s products and processes meet the highest quality standards while complying with relevant industry regulations. The Quality Manager will lead the quality assurance team, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with both internal and external quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the company’s ISO 9001:2015 quality management system. Ensure the system aligns with industry best practices and client requirements.
- Have the ability to implement a AS9100 standard quality management system for aerospace and other specialized industries, including quality management, documentation, and traceability requirements.
- Develop and implement quality control processes for all metal fabrication operations, ensuring that all products meet or exceed customer specifications and industry standards.
- Conduct internal audits and prepare for external audits (ISO, AS9100, customer-specific audits) to ensure compliance with standards. Lead corrective actions and continual improvement initiatives to address any non-conformances.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians to uphold quality standards and support continuous improvement efforts across all production stages.
- Manage documentation of all quality-related activities, including test results, inspection reports, and non-conformance reports. Generate and present reports on quality performance, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Act as the point of contact for customers regarding quality-related issues, including handling customer complaints, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. Ensure that purchased materials and components meet company quality standards and work with suppliers to resolve any quality issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the quality system and production processes, focusing on increasing efficiency, reducing waste, and ensuring product excellence.
- Provide training on quality standards, procedures, and best practices to production staff and new employees, ensuring company-wide adherence to quality policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality management role, ideally within a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- ISO 9001:2015 certification/experience in managing and auditing an ISO 9001 quality management system.
- AS9100 experience, particularly in aerospace or other regulated industries.
- Strong knowledge of quality control techniques, including statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action.
- Familiarity with industry-specific quality standards (e.g., ASTM, SAE, or MIL-SPEC).
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, suppliers, and all levels of staff.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software.
