What are the responsibilities and job description for the Designer – Intervention Solutions position at Trendsetter Engineering, Inc.?
Summary:
The Designer is primarily responsible for generating system drawing packages, designing new equipment, and modifying existing asset designs to continuously improve Trendsetter’s intervention services. This includes producing detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for both conceptual studies as well as equipment builds. The Designer regularly leads internal team design reviews to ensure equipment is fit for purpose. The role requires a motivated individual who persistently looks for opportunities to improve the standards and processes of the Intervention department. This position will be primarily based from the Trendsetter office located in Houston, TX, but may require occasional travel in support of field operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Generate models and drawings of intervention systems and ancillary equipment assets.
• Work with field engineers to support client intervention projects in design of equipment and drafting of project schematics, general arrangements, and other project specific drawings.
• Support offshore field operations including interventions and installations as required. Primarily in creating system stack up drawings and project schematics.
• Analyze engineering sketches, specifications, and related data to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts.
• Generate detailed multi-view manufacturing drawings including detail such as weld call outs, bearing fits, finishes, materials of construction, coatings, and quality requirements.
• Modify machine or structural designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
• Generate drawings in support of Trendsetter rentals and capping stack businesses.
• Recommend improvements and adhere to department drafting standards.
• Coordinate with third party companies and Trendsetter departments to meet project requirements as required.
• Provide input for the continued improvement of existing processes and assets. Contribute to the development of new techniques and technology in support of subsea operations.

Qualifications:
• Experience:
o Minimum of 2 years’ experience with Subsea Operations and/or Equipment
o Advanced knowledge of SolidWorks 3D modeling software
o Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD 2D software
o Proficient with Microsoft Office Systems (Word, Excel, MS Project, Visio)
