What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supply Chain Expediter position at Trendsetter Engineering, Inc.?
Summary:
The Supply Chain Expediter will serve as a Supply Chain Coordinator to the delivery of TEI (Trendsetter Engineering, Inc.) Purchased components from the start to the finish, ensuring they are completed and delivered to specifications and the contractually delivery dated defined in Purchase Order confirmed to TEI.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generate weekly Open Order reports out of the ERP system and distribute them to suppliers.
- Maintain an online database of open order reports.
- Drive timely status updates from the suppliers through the open order processes.
- Ensure promise dates are up to date in ERP system for all open TEI purchase orders by coordinating date changes from supplier open order process to buyers.
- Communicating to buyers when contractual dates that should move out due to TEI created delays.
- Identify deliveries that are at risk of missing contractual delivery dates by analyzing open order status, supplier visits, subcomponent deliveries, and NCRs status.
- Mico manages deliveries identified at risk and/or the Supply Chain/Manufacturing Manager has approved as critical deliveries.
- Creates mitigation plans on at risk and critical deliveries to ensure the best delivery and financial outcome for TEI.
- In some cases, micromanagement of deliveries will require creating and maintaining a detailed mini schedule which tracks part manufacturing and movement processes from step to step.
- Communicates bottle necks, risks and issues that are affecting supplier performance and delivery to manufacturing, engineering, quality and warehouse functional managers.
- Captures late delivery reason codes and maintains database and along with current supplier OTD%.
Position Requirements, Qualifications and Experience:
- Maintain a current Texas Driver’s License.
- Basic knowledge of the process of machining, welding, coating and TEI workflows/material movements to produce items specified by TEI.
- Basic understanding of GD&T along with dimensional inspections.
- Capable of driving 100 miles or more per day visiting TEI vendors monitoring parts.
- BS/BA degree and at least 5 years of previous experience related to position.
- Exhibits strong communication skills, both with internal and external contacts.
- Excellent quantitative, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Ability to set priorities and take initiative.
