Position - Material Handler - Forklift
Shift: 5:45am - 2:15pm Monday-Friday, Saturday as needed
FLSA Status: Hourly, overtime eligible
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Must be able to drive a lift truck as needed, i.e. filling bowl feeders, removing filled hoppers, assisting with die changes, etc.
- Ensure that each filled hopper is tagged appropriately.
- Must be able to stack hoppers, pallets, etc. as needed.
- Must be able to perform basic maintenance of lift truck, including changing and storing propane tanks, oil changes, overall quality checks, etc.
- Must know and practice safety procedures while driving a hi-lo.
- Must be proficient in all applicable Company procedures pertaining to the job and the department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions: Must be proficient in using a lift truck; must be proficient in following directions and conscious of safety at all times; good working command of English language.
Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not a requirement.
Experience Requirements: 1 year or more experience driving a forklift.
Skill Requirements: Basic knowledge of hammer and induction unit set up preferred, but not required. Good working command of the English language; valid on-site hi-lo certification. Must be able to use simple math calculations, and use basic hand held measuring tools. Must be a forward thinker and a team player.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit for long periods of time; climbing, twisting, turning, and lifting up to 50# several times a day. Able to work in a hot or cold work environment.

- Note: If an employee opts out of their medical coverage with Trenton Forging Company, the Company will pay the employee $70 weekly – totaling $3640 annually. Dental, Vision and Accident Insurance plans through Guardian are also available at negligible costs to the employee. If the employee selects one of the HSA medical plans above, they are automatically enrolled in a Health Savings Account (HSA). The Company makes $500 annual contributions for employees who choose single-person medical coverage and $1000 annual contributions for coverage of 2 or more persons.
- Life Insurance Our forging company automatically pays for a $15,000 life insurance policy for each employee. Additional life insurance may be purchased by the employee, up to $150,000 in employee coverage, $50,000 in spousal coverage, and $10,000 coverage per child.
- 401(k) On the first month after 60 days of employment, all employees are eligible to participate in our 401(k) plan with Merrill Lynch. In profitable years, the Company may match employee contributions with discretionary bonuses to all employees currently participating in our 401(k) plan.
- Tuition Reimbursement – After one year of service, employees are eligible to receive tuition reimbursement for work related course work.
