What are the responsibilities and job description for the SPC Quality Inspector position at Trenton Forging?
Must have prior quality inspection experience in a metal forming manufacturing environment.
Position: Statistical Process Control (SPC) Quality Inspector
Reports to: Quality Manager
Shift: 5:45am to 2:15pm OR 4:15pm
FLSA Status: Hourly
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Interpret part drawings by reading blueprints.
- Use a wide variety of measuring tools.
- Read and follow process control plans (PCP’s).
- Understand and interpret statistical process controls (SPC) charts
- Understand and check for visual defects.
- Assist crews with problem solving.
- Identify product and process opportunities.
- Generate maintenance work orders for tooling and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions: Will provide statistical information for quality improvement by identifying testing methods and samples; will check Hammer Shop product for correct dimensions.
Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience Requirements: 2 years working as a quality inspector in a manufacturing environment utilizing measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc).
Skill Requirements: Basic math and computer skills. Familiarity with calipers, micrometers and other measuring equipment.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in a hot steel forging environment (heat, noise, etc) Job involves twisting, turning, reaching, bending, climbing, pulling, and pushing. Must be able to lift up to 25# approximately 15 times during the day. Must have general computer knowledge, and be able to learn / use additional software as needed.

- Life Insurance Our forging company automatically pays for a $15,000 life insurance policy for each employee. Additional life insurance may be purchased by the employee, up to $100,000 in employee coverage, $50,000 in spousal coverage, and $10,000 coverage per child.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
