Job Summary
The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and disassembling barge-washing equipment in a safe manner. This includes attaching hosepipes to the barge and hooking them up with a crane, stripping the barge, and cleaning it with high-pressure water blasts.
Main Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and disassemble barge-washing equipment safely
- Attach hosepipes to the barge and hook them up with a crane correctly
- Strip the barge and clean it with high-pressure water blasts
- Replace machine oil and filters and assist in barge-painting activities
- Perform all aspects of barge washing work, including preparing and checking equipment, entering and exiting barges, and using washing equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment that complies with environmental guidelines and policies
- Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and safety rules and policies while performing the work
- Utilize proper PPE while washing barges
Requirements:
- Must have prior experience in barge washing
- Must pass a drug screen and background check
