Job Duties :
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical lines, cables, and equipment within the plant.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems in plant equipment, including motors, pumps, and control systems.
- Perform routine inspections of electrical systems and components to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Work with electrical blueprints and schematics to lay out and install electrical systems.
- Ensure safe operation of electrical systems in accordance with plant procedures and local electrical codes.
- Test electrical circuits and equipment using testing devices to identify potential issues or malfunctions.
- Ensure proper grounding and bonding of electrical systems to minimize risks of electrical shock and fire hazards.
- Collaborate with other maintenance personnel, operators, and contractors to coordinate electrical repair or upgrade projects.
- Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns, identifying and rectifying issues in a timely manner.
- Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations while performing electrical work.
- Assist in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs for electrical equipment and systems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections conducted on electrical equipment.
- Assist with the installation and maintenance of backup power supplies and emergency systems.
- Ensure all electrical work is done within established safety standards and company policies.Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in electrical engineering, industrial electricity, or a related field preferred.
- Certification or training as an Electrician, Linesman, or equivalent technical qualifications.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in electrical work, preferably within an industrial or chemical plant environment.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, circuits, control systems, and power distribution.
- Knowledge of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
- Familiarity with industry safety regulations and electrical codes (e.g., NEC, OSHA).
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights, as necessary.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Must pass a physical exam and drug screening, as required.Physical Requirements :
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work in challenging environments (hot, noisy, or confined spaces).
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
- Comfortable working at heights or on ladders.Work Environment :
- Can be noisy, hot, and hazardous.
- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), including gloves, hard hats, safety glasses, and electrical-rated footwear, is required at all times.
