We have a great opportunity for a Pipette Calibration Technician to join our team based out of Lansdale, PA. You will travel daily supporting our local customers in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Maryland and Delaware. There will also be occasional overnight travel. Our customers are leaders in the life science industry and depend on us to calibrate their equipment to ensure they can continue to research, develop and manufacture medications, vaccinations and medical devices.
In this role you will:
- Utilize state of the art Test Equipment to calibrate and perform preventive maintenance on all brand name manufacturer pipettes in accordance with Trescal's SOP's.
- Work independently and/or part of a team servicing equipment equipment at various customer locations.
- Be responsible for customer satisfaction on all equipment and services.
- Create and verify calibration data sheets for technical content.
QUALIFICATIONS
As a Pipette Calibration Technician you must possess:
- Associates Degree or Technical Training.
- Minimum 2 years experience in the calibration and repair of a wide variety of single and multi-channel pipettes and repeaters.
- Analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to read and interpret directions, perform repetitive tasks, lift up to 55 lbs., and stand/sit for extended periods of time.
- Computer abilities and familiarity with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel.
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm to provide excellent customer service.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
- Reliable transportation with current vehicle registration and proof of insurance is required.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Position is contingent upon passing a Background/DMV Check and pre-employment Drug Screen.
- Job requirements may include: Vaccines and TB Testing for some laboratory applications
- Must be able to climb ladders (12 ft. minimum); Utilize scissors lifts and scaffolding/catwalk (up to 50') and able to lift and move 50 lbs.
Note: Mileage reimbursement will be provided for the use of your own vehicle.

JOB SUMMARY:
Pipette Calibration Technician will calibrate and perform preventive maintenance on all brand name manufacturer pipettes in accordance with SOP's. Calibration services are scheduled in advance for you by the corporate office in Lansdale, PA, so you can focus on providing the service not selling or scheduling. You will receive electronic work orders so you can dispatch directly to the customer location.
SOURCE OF SUPERVISION: DIRECTOR, CALIBRATION
- Requires supervision and guidance regarding calibration and troubleshooting in the training phase.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures,
- Ensure customer satisfaction and timely turn-around on all equipment and service,
- Must have reliable transportation with current vehicle registration and proof of insurance.
- Valid Driver's license with a clean driving record (Annual DMV check).
- Successfully pass a background check and drug screen.
- May be required to use standard and specialized computer applications.
- Must be able to stand, sit, and/kneel for extended periods.
- Must be able to climb a ladder (12 ft. minimum) utilize a scissor lift, and scaffolding/catwalks (up to 50 ft.)
- Able to lift a minimum of 55 lbs.
- Requirements might include; Vaccines and Tetanus shot, Customer required TB testing.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Associates Degree
- Minimum of one year technical training
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSA) REQUIRED:
- Organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Windows-based products, i.e., Excel and Word,
- Communication, analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Skilled in communication with customers and peers,
- Field Service Experience and knowledge of GMP regulations.
- Proficiency in planning and organizing workflow.
- Daily travel to customer sites.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sitting, standing and/or kneel for long periods of time
- Able to lift 55 lbs
- Climb ladders (12 ft. minimum), scissor lifts, and scaffolding/catwalks (up to 50 ft.)
