Looking for an Experienced
Safety and Training Specialist
Overview: We are looking for a candidate who can assure Tresco's Safety program and provide and coordinate quality training and record keeping in accordance with the policies and practices of Tresco, laws, regulations, and administrative rulings of governmental organizations and other regulatory and advisory authorities and organizations.
Responsibilities
- Present all paperwork and required in an accurate and timely manner.
- Interact with co-workers, other professionals, and all interested parties in a professional manner.
- Take direction, interact, and maintain open communication with supervisor, and co-workers.
- Interpret policies and procedures for all employees.
- This position requires the employee to be certified in all mandated training courses and demonstrate expected level of competency for each course completed.
- Conduct New Hire Orientation for all new hires, volunteers, and student interns in a professional manner.
- Travel to outlying areas to conduct training. May include occasional evenings and overnight stays.
- Responsible for scheduling, presenting, and tracking Human Resources/Safety training utilizing KnowBe 4 training platform. E.g. HIPAA, sexual harassment, policies and procedures, drug free workplace policies, violence in the workplace, Health & Safety trainings.
- Monitor and maintain training compliance for Defensive driving and CPR/ First Aid mandated recertifications by: entering trainings into appropriate database, and training files; monitoring compliance reports and sending them to Managers, sign staff up for trainings and send registration confirmations to work email.
- Maintain current CPR/First Aid certification.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES. Other job-related duties as assigned also to include
- Maintain current CPR/First Aid certification.
- Assure Tresco’s compliance with safety regulations and Tresco policies relating to safety.
- Develop and implement an effective safety program.
- Develop and implement an effective Worker’s Compensation program.
- Develop and implement an effective “Return to Work” program in conjunction with our insurance carrier.
- Conduct Accident Reviews on all reported injuries.
- Accept and implement special projects as assigned by supervisor.
- Serve and actively participate on committees as requested.
- Serve as backup for other Human Resources staff.
Qualifications
Education. High School or GED.
Experience: Two years' experience in an office setting and one-year post-secondary education in Human Resources, Office Administration or related field or education and experience totaling three years. Training experience preferred.
Education/Experience substitution. In accordance with Tresco policy.
Licenses/Certifications. Valid driver’s license.
Other (e.g., post-offer drug screen, background check, driver’s license record, etc.). Employee’s must undergo a driver’s license record check; employees must pass a background check. Note: For Federal position list NCICS Clearance
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:
- Maintain confidentiality of all information regarding employees of Tresco.
- Familiar with and follow all Tresco policies and procedures.
- Follow universal precautions and all work practice controls established by OSHA and Tresco’s Health and Safety Plan.

Rate of Pay: $18.00-$23.00
Pay Range: SP-2
Days & Hours: Mon-Fri 8 AM- 5 PM
