Responsibilities Overview for the Direct Support Professional Position:

• Assist with Daily Living Activities:
• Help clients with essential daily tasks such as personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
• Help prepare meals that meet nutritional needs and assist with feeding when required.
• Support Individuals with Autism and Developmental Disabilities:
• Implement personalized care plans to support clients with autism and other developmental disabilities.
• Provide guidance and assistance tailored to the unique needs of each individual, promoting their independence while ensuring their well-being.
• Monitor Client Behavior and Ensure Safety:
• Observe and monitor clients regularly to detect any changes in their physical or emotional condition.
• Take necessary steps to maintain client safety and comfort, reporting any concerning behaviors or situations to supervisors.
• Promote Social Interaction and Community Engagement:
• Encourage and facilitate social interactions with peers, family members, and others in the community.
• Engage clients in recreational activities, outings, or therapies to promote inclusion and a sense of belonging.
• Maintain Documentation and Adhere to Regulations:
• Document client progress, changes in condition, and any significant incidents or observations.
• Ensure all records are maintained in compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
