Job Overview
The Trettin Early Learning Center’s Program Supervisor maintains daily operations and supports teachers in providing high quality early learning services in a safe and collaborative environment that is conducive to learning so that they can support and strengthen children and families experiencing challenges in their lives.

Job Title: Program Supervisor

Job Type: Full-time (9:00-5:30, Monday-Friday)

Compensation range: $25-$28

Starting pay will be based on years of experience and level of ECE education

About Us:

Trettin Early Learning Center is a non-profit organization providing high quality childcare for families in Seattle. The center is supported and housed in the University Congregational United Church of Christ. The non-sectarian program provides full-time, part-time, and drop-in childcare. The programs serve up to 85 children each weekday, ages 12 months through the time that they leave for Kindergarten. The organization provides a diverse, safe, and inclusive environment.

Job Summary:

Trettin Early Learning Center is seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to step into an administrative role as Program Supervisor. This position emphasizes staff development and support while also incorporating various administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a commitment to early childhood education, and the ability to multitask effectively. Staff Responsibilities:

  • Spend 50% of time in classrooms supporting Lead Teachers through planning, mentoring, and coverage.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director on hiring, onboarding, and training staff.
  • Assist in evaluating teaching staff and organizing staff meetings.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff on menu planning.

Administrative Duties:

  • Oversee staff ratios and manage organization in the Executive Director's absence.
  • Handle supply ordering and maintain staff time records.
  • Update parent information forms as needed.

Children and Families:

  • Communicate preschool activities and child development resources to families as needed.
  • Welcome and orient new families, facilitating tours.

Board Participation:

  • Adhere to Board policies, attend meetings, and assist the Executive Director with reports.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must possess WA State ECE State Certification (min 47 ECE credits) per DCYF requirements
  • Knowledge of DCYF Licensing Requirements and Early Achievers Operating Guidelines.
  • Genuine commitment to children's well-being and the value of early learning in child development.
  • Empathetic and supportive approach to working with teachers and proven track record of facilitating their success.
  • Familiarity with state accreditation and licensing processes.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with diverse audiences (i.e. parents, staff, the Board, etc.)
  • Successful completion of a background check and compliance with licensing regulations.
  • Physical ability to carry children weighing 50 pounds or more

Preferred skills:

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Procare, QuickBooks, and MS Office/Google Docs.
  • Classroom leadership experience.
