Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Interventional Radiology Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team at a leading teaching hospital. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing with experience in interventional radiology procedures. This role involves working closely with patients undergoing various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
Duties
- Provide direct patient care during interventional radiology procedures, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about procedures, risks, and post-procedure care.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in accordance with hospital policies and ICD-10 coding standards.
- Assist in the preparation of the interventional suite, ensuring all necessary equipment is sterile and ready for use.
- Utilize Athenahealth for efficient medical documentation and patient management.
- Support patients with developmental disabilities by providing tailored care strategies during procedures.
- Participate in continuous education and training programs to stay current with advancements in interventional radiology techniques, including botulinum toxin treatment.
Shift: 7:00am-5:30pm, 4x10
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse Pennsylvania or compact license in the state of practice.
- Previous experience in a teaching hospital setting or primary care preferred.
- Familiarity with emergency room (ER) protocols is advantageous.
- Experience with neonatal ventilators is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of medical documentation practices, particularly using ICD-10 coding.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of patient care.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and education within the field of interventional radiology.
