Trevor Day School is seeking a full-time Middle School English leave replacement teacher and advisor for the fall semester of the 2025-2026 school year. Responsibilities include planning and teaching 6th Grade English to the entire grade. Students examine the process of developing individual voice through narrative and analytical writing assignments, regularly refining their own written and oral expression through this exploration. Importantly, students continue to develop vocabulary and grammar skills through consistent lessons and practice exercises.
Important to the role of a middle school teacher is serving as an advisor to a group of approximately ten 6th-grade students. Responsibilities of the advisor include holding group advisory meetings three times per week, functioning as the primary school contact for those students' families, and holding twice-yearly family conferences.
Qualifications and experiences should include :
- Master's degree preferred.
- Three or more years of full-time experience teaching English.
- Clear passion for the subject matter.
- Experience incorporating reading and writing skills instruction into the curriculum.
- Experience using varied methods of assessment and providing effective written feedback.
- Adept at designing and delivering lessons that challenge and inspire students.
- Experience differentiating instruction to accommodate a range of learning styles.

The full-time annual salary range for this position is $55,000-$176,000, as per the school's salary scale.
