Position Description:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for optimizing and improving manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, implementing lean principles, and utilizing engineering expertise to enhance production capabilities. The Manufacturing Engineer plays a key role in driving continuous improvement and supporting the overall success of the manufacturing operation.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
Process Improvement: Analyze workflows, production processes, and layouts to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
Cost Reduction: Develop strategies to minimize waste, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control systems to maintain high standards.
Data Analysis: Collect and interpret data to make informed decisions and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Resource Allocation: Optimize the use of materials, equipment, and human resources.
Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with safety standards and enhance workplace safety.
Project Management: Lead and participate in cross-functional teams for process improvement projects.
Supply Chain Management: Optimize logistics, inventory control, and supply chain processes.
Technology Integration: Implement automation, new software, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
Communication: Collaborate with management, engineers, and staff to implement solutions and changes.
Required Skills/ Abilities:
2 years in Manufacturing Engineering role, or similar experience
Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
Demonstrated organizational and planning skills
Ability to successfully work in a team atmosphere
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering with coursework in the manufacturing process
Work Environment:
Primarily in manufacturing plants, warehouses, or office settings. May require occasional travel to multiple sites or suppliers.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Ability to traverse office, manufacturing facility and customer sites.
