What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Engineer III position at TREW LLC?
Position Description:
As an Engineer III, you will be responsible for design and layout of new projects. You will lead small and large scope projects, working with a team of engineers, taking responsibility for the drawing details and BOM creation. Additionally, you will be responsible for the accuracy of the drawings and BOMs for various projects.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Lead layout and design of material handling projects
- Lead in the generation and checking of project equipment lists based on project need
- Ensure the accuracy of the drawings and BOMs associated with various projects
- Generate PE / Permit drawing packages to submit to local jurisdictions for project permitting
- Be the point of contact to support installation. You will also travel to active job sites to support installation and commissioning of Trew’s material handling equipment
- Lead system design reviews, explaining to the junior engineers the design and expectations of the project
- Supporting junior engineers on small projects
Required Skills/ Abilities:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Extensive knowledge with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experienced knowledge of drafting software (AutoCAD) and ERP systems (Netsuite preferred)
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, define schedule, and manage time efficiently
- Highly motivated, ambitious, and attentive to detail
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field
- 5-9 years of related experience, preferably 4-5 years in the material handling industry
Work Environment This is primarily a desk-based role, requiring extended periods of sitting and computer use. While the role is mainly desk-based, mobility within the office, manufacturing facility and customer sites may be required for meetings and interactions with colleagues.
Physical Requirements Required to stand, walk and sit; talk and hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms for the use of tools to assemble heavy equipment. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 50 pounds. Travel less than 10%
