Position Description:
As a Sr. Mechanical Product Development Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing innovative products, transforming ideas into reality. You will lead the design, development, implementation, and analysis of new and existing products. You will guide the engineering design team and other professionals to identify appropriate materials and processes to ensure the quality, performance, reliability, and manufacturability of products.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize the design of new products, including components and electromechanical systems.
- Create models and drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Develop specifications and implement designs to meet product requirements.
- Coordinate the manufacturing process for designed products.
- Collaborate with other engineers, managers, and the development team.
- Estimate and establish cost parameters and budgets for designs.
- Interact with suppliers to source materials and components.
- Design experiments, research, and track prototype performance and reactions.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables for development tasks.
- Organize plans and create schedules.
- Assist with strategic planning of new product development initiatives.
- Oversee the integration of new technologies and methodologies into product designs.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Assist with the protection of intellectual property, including patent applications and licensing.
- Lead product innovations and continuous improvement efforts.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to design robust and innovative solutions.

- Ability to provide technical leadership and guidance for less experienced team members.
- Wide product lifecycle perspective leveraging Design for Manufacture/Assembly/Installation/Maintenance.
- Expertise in machine design, stress analysis, evaluation and selection of components, material selection and specification, and design and load analysis.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- 6 years of product development experience, preferably in material handling equipment or industrial machinery.
- Experience leading at least one team through the end-to-end development and deployment of a product.
Physical Requirements
Capable of working in a construction site environment (no air conditioning, dusty, loud etc.) and following all site safety rules such as wearing personal protective equipment (hard hats, safety shoes, hearing protection, etc.)
Ability to frequently move about the work site to access equipment, etc. and remain standing stationary for extended periods of time.
