We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to manage the plans and execution that drives the growth, profitability and attributes of assigned categories. As a Trex Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and driving implementation of expansion into new categories through internal development efforts, sourced business development arrangements, licensing, or acquisition recommendations. You'll develop and deliver business plans to executive leadership to obtain organizational support for new product / new business initiatives. This role is a key member of our Marketing team.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive sales and share of assigned categories.
  • Manage research efforts in the area of consumer needs/desires.  Fully evaluate new product or line extension opportunities with regard to revenue and profitability potential, as well as fit with company strategic intent.  
  • Research needs and manage product enhancement programs, such as appearance, performance, and packaging improvements.  Set quality standards and ensure adherence monitoring is in place.            
  • Manage new and existing product lines to achieve growth and profitability targets, including SKU rationalization, cost-reduction initiatives and pricing actions as appropriate.  Take ownership for forecasting, service levels, and completion of day-to-day management/communication with other departments.   
  • Lead cross-functional team (including outside consultants/suppliers) for new product/extension development and launches.  Includes development of specifications, prototypes, manufacturing techniques and announcement plans.
  • Drive positioning and marketing development strategies working with internal support teams to execute.
  • Act as company expert on competitive product offerings, analyze points of weakness or opportunity, and recommend Trex response to threats as necessary.
  • Investigate and drive joint venture/cross promotion opportunities.
  • Manage product line profitability, both in terms of costs and spending, to achieve P&L goals.

Direct Report: 1 Associate Product Manager

Travel Requirement: Ability to travel up to 30% annually, mostly domestic but some international travel.

 

EXPERIENCE

  • 4-year college degree, MBA degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience required, preferably in Product Management.
  • Possesses strong presentation skills along with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Combination of creativity and analytical abilities.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership, technical experience, and project management abilities.

     

    BASE SALARY RANGE: $110,000-$170,000 annually

    The salary range provided serves as a general guideline for potential compensation for this position. It reflects the base salary and does not account for other benefits or additional compensation opportunities that may apply. This role is also eligible for further compensation through an annual and/or sales bonus, in addition to the base salary.
