JOB OVERVIEW:
Kaiser Permanente’s Level 3 NICU at Moanalua Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join our team. This role involves providing specialized neonatal care, working alongside collaborative physicians and NPs to support our smallest and most fragile patients. The position requires flexibility in overnight shifts and the ability to work independently in a high-acuity neonatal environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
✅ Provide comprehensive neonatal care to critically ill and premature infants in a Level 3 NICU setting.
✅ Perform advanced clinical assessments, procedures, and interventions to manage complex neonatal conditions.
✅ Work in a collaborative team environment, including neonatologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
✅ Respond effectively to neonatal emergencies, stabilizing and managing critically ill newborns.
✅ Monitor growth, development, and treatment plans for neonates, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
✅ Communicate and provide emotional support to families, guiding them through the neonatal care process.
✅ Maintain compliance with hospital protocols, state regulations, and best practices in neonatal care.
MUST-HAVE Qualifications:
✔ Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner in a Level 3 NICU.
✔ Master’s degree in Nursing.
✔ Registered Nurse (RN) License – Hawaii (Required at the time of hire).
✔ Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) License – Hawaii.
✔ Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) Certification.
✔ Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications:
✔ One (1) year of experience as an NNP in an acute care setting.
✔ Hawaii APRN Recognition with Prescriptive Authority.
✔ Experience working with micro-premies and high-risk neonatal cases.
✔ Ability to work independently and manage critical situations with confidence.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Base Salary: $131,600 – $170,280 per year
- Expected Earnings: $149,100 - $164,000 per year Annual Bonus Extra Pay for Additional Hours Weekend Shift Differential
- $10,000 Sign-On Bonus
- ✈ Relocation Assistance Available – Department will cover part of the cost and provide a travel coordinator.
Work Schedule & Environment:
- Level 3 NICU at Moanalua Medical Center, Honolulu, HI
- One provider in-unit at all times
- 40-hour workweek:
- 1 x 24-hour shift (12 hours in-unit 12 hours on-call in the NICU on-call room)
- 2 x 8-hour shifts
