Assistant Controller
A full-time position in our Munhall, PA branch office.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Controller in managing all financial and accounting activities within the credit union, ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the completion and maintenance of financial reporting, including monthly-end reports, Board reports, Asset Liability Management reports, and Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL).
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Develop, maintain, and implement policies, procedures, processes, and internal controls related to operational and accounting functions.
- Oversee the month-end closing process, reviewing financial statements, general ledger accounts, accruals, prepaids, and reconciliations.
- Manage the credit union's liquidity to ensure adequate levels to meet demand.
- Evaluate vendor and operational expenses to ensure alignment with approved proposals, contracts, and agreements.
- Complete and maintain required departmental annual vendor due diligence requirements.
- Manage tax reporting, including coordination and proof review of member 1099 and 1098 tax documentation.
- Support the management of the credit union's Investment Portfolio.
- Assist with annual and regulatory audits and exams, collecting requested documentation.
- Cross-train to backup departmental work.
- Provide support and manage departmental workflow as needed for completion and accuracy in all accounting departments' areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 5-10 years of related experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the credit union or banking industry.
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting required.
- Clear understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Well organized, with the ability to prioritize and multitask to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
