Position: Associate Physician – Hospice and Palliative Care

Location: Benton County and Franklin County in Washington State

Type: Independent Contractor (1099), Safety Sensitive

Schedule: On-site availability is required. The schedule is determined based on the physician's availability and the agency's needs, in collaboration with our Hospice Scheduler, and finalized four weeks in advance.


Malpractice Insurance: Tri-Cities Chaplaincy provides liability and malpractice insurance with the following coverage which includes tail coverage:  $1,000,000 per claim and $3,000,000 aggregate


Compensation Rates:

  • On-Call: $20/per hour billed in 1-hour increments ($480 for 24 hours)
  • Active Time: $120/per hour billed in 15-minute increments. 
  • Holiday Active Time: $180/per hour billed in 15-minute increments.

Your role will involve providing essential medical services to support patients facing serious illnesses and end-of-life, focusing on comfort-based care and improving quality of life. If you're a dedicated MD or DO with excellent communication skills and a passion for end-of-life care, we'd love to have you on board.

Requirements

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Osteopathic Medicine (DO), from an accredited school.
  • Washington State unrestricted professional license.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Previous experience in hospice and palliative care settings is preferred.
  • This position is designated as safety-sensitive and will require pre-employment drug testing, which includes cannabis testing in WA State.
