Description
The Data Analyst collects and analyzes data from a variety of sources and presents the information to a variety of audience guide organizational decision making. The position is responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of data as well as packaging the data in a variety of ways so that it can be understood by a variety of target audiences. This position monitors data trends and recommends quality and efficiency improvements. This is a highly visible position and required the individual to possess the ability to interact with a wide variety of people, both internally and externally, as well as represent the company in a professional manner.
Essential Functions
- Uses automated tools to extract data from primary and secondary sources, verifying the accuracy and efficacy of extracted data.
- Develops and maintains databases and data systems, organizing and filtering data as needed and identifying and correcting code problems.
- Uses statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets.
- Prepares and presents analysis reports to a variety of stakeholders in ways that enable them to understand the data analysis steps and utilize the data to make strategic decisions.
- Develops and modifies reporting systems and data sources to meet organizational needs.
- Performs data mining tasks for predictive and forecasting purposes.
- Attains all agreed to goals and objectives within specified time frames, as part of the organization's overall mission and strategic plan.

Requirements
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree in data science, business analytics, computer science or a related field preferred. Equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
Minimum Work Experience
3 years of data analysis experience required and 2 years of experience working in a healthcare facility preferred.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Expert skills in understanding financial and clinical information systems and decision support systems.
Expert mathematical skills to collect, measure, organize, and analyze data.
Proficient communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in MS Office and ability to achieve proficiency in enterprise software, including Electronic Health Record systems, to review and analyze data.
