Data Analyst

The Tri-Com Consulting Groupis a Full-Service IT Employment Consulting Firm who is seeking qualified candidates for the following opening : Job Title : Data Analyst – Power BI & Tableau Location : Middletown, CT (hybrid – 2 days on-site / 3 days remote)Duration : 1 year contract (extensions possible)________________________________________Job Summary : Our client is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst with extensive experience in building complex reports and dashboards using Power BI, with additional experience in Tableau. The ideal candidate will work closely with our state law enforcement client to analyze, interpret, and visualize data, providing actionable insights that support decision-making. This role requires expertise in data reporting, visualization, and a strong understanding of law enforcement data systems and processes.________________________________________Key Responsibilities :

• Develop and maintain advanced data visualizations, dashboards, and reports primarily in Power BI, with some Tableau support as needed.
• Collaborate with law enforcement stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver customized reports that meet operational and strategic needs.
• Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data.
• Analyze large datasets related to law enforcement operations (e.g., incident data, case records, crime statistics) and identify trends, patterns, and insights.
• Ensure data compliance with regulatory standards such as CJIS and other security protocols.
• Optimize data models and report performance in Power BI to enhance user experience and efficiency.
• Assist with data governance efforts, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to best practices.
• Provide training and support to end-users on interpreting reports and leveraging dashboards for decision-making.________________________________________Required Qualifications :
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis and reporting, with a focus on Power BI.
• Hands-on experience developing complex Power BI dashboards and reports, including custom measures, calculated columns, and DAX expressions.
• Proficiency in Tableau for data visualization and reporting.
• Strong SQL skills for querying and data manipulation.
• Experience working with large datasets, preferably in law enforcement or government environments.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with data security standards and regulations (e.g., CJIS).
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate data findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.________________________________________Preferred Qualifications :
• Experience with law enforcement data systems (RMS, CAD, crime analytics).
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools.
• Python or R programming experience for data analysis is a plus.
• Power BI certification is preferred.
