Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) Director
Tri-County Community Action Agency, a private non-profit agency is accepting resumes for the position of CSBG Director. The CSBG Director will provide services to low income and elderly members of the community. Develop community resources and promote programs and resources of TCCAA in the community. Provide outreach and make referrals while portraying a TCCAA in a positive light at all times.
The CSBG Director reports to the Executive Director.
Summary:
- Responsible for coordinating and supervising agency CSBG operations
- Responsible for developing new and enhancing existing resources in the community to address the needs of low-income families served while maintaining current resource directories
- Identify, develop, arrange and provide needed training for the CSBG staff
- Supervise and track CSBG, LIHEAP, Winter Care, FEMA programs
- Maintain all required program records, tracking forms and reports
- Compile all required monthly and quarterly service reports
- Must have concise knowledge of all the various low-income program requirements and guidelines and serve as the resource expert in answering questions related to those programs
- Direct and assist the TCCAA staff with volunteer development
- Direct and assist the TCCAA staff with in providing self-sufficiency activities for the community
- Supervise CSBG staff and assist in the taking of applications for CSBG assistance, LIHEAP, Weatherization and other assistance programs offered by the agency
- Direct and assist Family service workers in designing and implementing special projects resulting in outreach activities
- Foster partnership[s and collaboration with other agencies to enhance the level of services provided to the community
- Develop and write the CSBG Work Service plan based on the needs of the community
- Assist with program budget development
- Responsible for monitoring programs to assure complete compliance with contract requirements
- Prepare for monitoring and auditing visits
- Pursue relevant continuing education and professional growth opportunities which will enhance supervisory, program management and service provider skills
- Assist with researching and writing grants
- Assist with fundraising activities and represent TCCAA to funding sources, government officials, and the general public in a manner consistent with the Mission Statement, Vision Statement, Code of Ethics and Strategic Plan.
Purpose of Position: To assist the Executive Director with selected operational aspects of the organization including the analysis of budget and management issues, personnel related matters, public relations, performing research on special assignments and projects, and working directly with program directors as needed to achieve goals and objectives.
Additional Requirements:
- Public speaking experience strongly preferred
- Continuing on the job training and education
- Ability to manage and effectively organize time
- Energetic, enthusiastic and outgoing with positive attitude, commitment and good people skills
- Genuine interest in the welfare of the elderly and low income persons
- Proficient computer skills
- Valid driver's license
- Self-motivated
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- Ability to work as a member of a team in a business environment
- Willing to travel to other counties on a regular basis and to various locations for training and conferences as needed
