Behavioral Support Specialist at Head Start
Job Description
To support the classrooms of children experiencing social emotional barriers at certain transitions and to be in the classroom for extended periods of time, we need a Behavioral Support Specialist. The ideal candidate will provide behavioral health services to children and their families, support staff around mental health and social emotional needs, and develop individual strength-based plans.
Responsibilities:
- Provide age-appropriate behavioral health services to children and their families
- Support staff with mental health and social emotional needs
- Develop and implement individual strength-based plans
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social work, early childhood education or a related field, and 2-3 years of experience providing behavioral health services to young children and their families.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
- 2-3 years of experience in behavioral health services
- Knowledge of early childhood development and therapeutic techniques
