JOB DESCRIPTION:
Outreach Specialist is responsible for encouraging residents in Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem County to participate in the Lead Remediation and Abatement program (LRAP).
The Outreach Specialist will be required to do outreach in assigned location. Responsibilities will also include educating the public on the LRAP program, assist applicant in completing application, process application for benefits, establishing and maintaining a presence on social media, conducting community specific activities, hold public forums independently, outreach to churches and social organizations, participate in community events to promote awareness of program. Must have good communication skills. Must have a valid NJ driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle daily.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Establish and Coordinate efforts among partner agencies in the County
- Educate the public on the LRAP program
- Encourage and assist residence to complete an application for assistance
- Assist applicant in completing LRAP application
- Schedule Home Visits for homebound applicants
- Process application for benefits
- Establishing and maintain a presence on social media
- Create multi-media activities
- Conduct community specific activities
- Hold public forums independently and in coordination with partners
- Participate in community events to promote awareness
- Implement Annual Outreach Plan
- Maintain an Outreach Calendar
- Attend County Meetings as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED and experience in a customer service setting
- Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Office 365, CRM’s applications
- Excellent organizational, analytical, oral and written communications skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a fast-paced, highly interactive staff
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to work effectively in a remote setting
- Ability to work well with diverse groups
- Ability to solve problems, resolve conflicts, and
- Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively under pressure
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
