Position Summary
Responsible for performing a variety of general maintenance and upkeep tasks across multiple facilities within our service area. Key responsibilities include basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC troubleshooting, groundskeeping, cleaning, and minor repairs. This position involves a significant amount of outdoor work in varying weather conditions and requires physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Essential Job Functions
- General Maintenance-
- Perform routine repairs and preventive maintenance tasks at multiple facilities, including but not limited to basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC troubleshooting.
- Lawn and Grounds Care-
- Mow lawns, trim bushes, remove debris, and maintain overall cleanliness of exterior spaces.
- Cleaning and Stocking
- Regularly clean and maintain facility interiors, including floors, windows, restrooms, and common areas.
- Stocking and organization of needed supplies throughout facilities.
- Communication of supply ordering needs.
- Trash and Recycling-
- Collect and dispose of trash, recycling, and other waste materials as needed.
- Safety Compliance-
- Follow all safety protocols and standards while working on facility grounds and inside buildings.
- Tool and Equipment Maintenance-
- Ensure that maintenance equipment, including lawnmowers and power tools, is properly maintained and in safe working order.
- Communication-
- Report any issues or necessary repairs to the supervisor, keeping them informed of the status of all maintenance activities.
- Team Collaboration-
- Work alongside other maintenance staff and contractors when necessary to ensure all facilities are properly maintained.
- Perform other functions and requirements of the position as may be from time to time deemed necessary by management.
Position Requirements
- Education Requirements-
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience-
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance, groundskeeping, or a similar role preferred but not required.
- Physical Requirements-
- Ability to lift up-to 50 lbs. unassisted and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
- This position involves outdoor work in varying weather conditions, as well as occasional exposure to hazardous materials, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Basic Skills-
- Ability to operate basic maintenance tools and equipment, including lawnmower, trimmers, and cleaning equipment.
- Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and prioritize tasks across multiple facilities.
- Communications Skills
- Possess excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Speak and understand the English language fluently.
- Computer Skills
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Analytical Skills
- Ability to learn and apply basic computer, technical, and mathematical skills.
- Other Skills
- Must work well in a team environment.
- Must have and maintain a valid Texas State Driver's License, minimum Class C. If a valid Texas State Driver's License has not been obtained, then it must be acquired in a reasonable amount of time as specified by the cooperative.

- Work with multiple Cooperative teams to maintenance issues.

- Work Conditions: Occasional overtime and after-hours work as required. This position will require you to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Position is subject to irregular hours based on unforeseen circumstances and requirements. The position will travel extensively by car or truck throughout the TCEC system.
