A high school diploma or G.E.D. is required, as is at least one year of experience in a mental health or addictions treatment setting. Certification as a Certified Peer Specialist is also mandatory within one year of initiating this position. Applicants should demonstrate a solid understanding of addictions treatment and/or mental health programs and supportive services, as well as knowledge of causes, nature, and treatment of substance abuse and/or mental health problems.

Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients and colleagues, fostering a sense of trust and respect.
- Conduct home visits and community outreach to engage clients and promote services.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement recovery plans, ensuring comprehensive care and effective problem-solving.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to solution development.
- Provide education and training to peers and staff on mental health and addiction issues, promoting awareness and understanding.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant research, best practices, and emerging trends in mental health and addiction, applying this knowledge to improve services and outcomes.
