Job Summary

• Requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. and at least one year of full-time experience in a mental health or addictions treatment setting.
• Must satisfy core competency job requirements and obtain certification as a Certified Peer Specialist within one year of initiating this position.
• Possesses knowledge of addictions treatment and/or mental health treatment programs and supportive services.
• Demonstrates general understanding of the causes, nature, and treatment of substance abuse and/or mental health problems.

- Provide direct input and support to individuals regarding their mental health journey.
- Act as a sounding board for individuals' issues and concerns, offering a unique perspective on recovery and coping skills.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and service providers to ensure seamless referrals and connections.
- Assist in completing and maintaining personal recovery plans, including identified strengths, needs, abilities, and goals.
- Participate in treatment team meetings to promote and support consumer's insight to recovery.
