Overview
A "plumbing combo tech" job involves performing a combination of plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair tasks, often including both residential and commercial settings, requiring the ability to diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, install fixtures, and repair pipes while adhering to building codes and safety regulations; essentially, a jack-of-all-trades plumber capable of handling a wide range of plumbing tasks across different environments.

Duties
- Knowledge of local and national plumbing codes.
- Performs residential and light commercial service to diagnose and resolve plumbing issues.
- Be able to identify potential problems to prevent premature and/or unexpected breakdowns/call backs.
- Repairs or replaces plumbing fixtures, test joints, and pipe systems.
- Interpret drawings and specifications to determine layout requirements.
- Installs pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances or fixtures using hand or power tools.
- Maintain a properly clean and stocked service vehicle.
- Explains to the client each service performed each time a maintenance or repair is completed and ensures complete customer satisfaction.
- Debriefs with dispatch after completion of every job.
- Follows safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a courteous demeanor with all customers.
- Respect a customer's property.
- be able to handle multiple things (drain cleaning, service plumbing, rough-ins, estimates.)
- be able to use hydro jets, cameras, and snakes.
- be pro efficient in plumbing and drain cleaning.
Skills
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures.
- Inspect plumbing systems and identify issues or potential problems.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to perform plumbing tasks.
- Perform routine maintenance on plumbing systems to prevent future issues.
- Respond to emergency plumbing calls and provide timely solutions,
- Install pipes, fixtures, and plumbing systems in residential ensuring all work meets regulatory standards.
- Perform rough-in plumbing and assemble fittings, valves, and other necessary plumbing components.
- Test plumbing systems for leaks, pressure, and overall performance.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard of quality.
Must haves
- At least 2 years of plumbing experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Plumbing license is preferred but not required to start.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- A resourceful team player with the ability to work independently when needed.
- A commitment to professionalism, reliability, and a “no excuses, make it happen” attitude.
