Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and skilled Science Teacher to teach chemistry and/or physics at our regional vocational high school. The ideal candidate will engage students through hands-on experiments, practical applications, and real-world problem-solving, preparing them for both academic and career success.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Development: Design and implement an engaging curriculum for chemistry and/or physics that aligns with MA DESE standards and integrates vocational applications relevant to students' career pathways.
2. Instruction: Deliver high-quality instruction in both chemistry and/or physics through lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on laboratory activities; differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
3. Laboratory Management: Supervise and manage laboratory activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed; maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, and order materials as needed.
4. Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress; provide timely feedback and support to students to enhance their learning; use data to make informed decisions that improve instruction and student outcomes.
5. Student Engagement: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration; implement project-based learning opportunities that relate to real-world applications in the vocational field.
6. Collaboration: Collaborate with other educators, counselors, and industry professionals to enhance the educational experience; participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and practices.
7. Career Guidance: Provide students with information about careers related to chemistry and/or physics, including pathways for further education and training; support students in exploring internships and job-shadowing opportunities in related fields.
