What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Receptionist/Medical Assistant position at Tri-County Rheumatology?
Tri-County Rheumatology currently has an opening for a full-time FRONT DESK/CERTIFIED ADMINISTRATIVE MEDICAL ASSISTANT. We are looking for someone who is a hard worker and most importantly - patient focused. We are a small office located on the campus of Holy Redeemer Hospital. Office hours are Monday through Friday, daytime schedule, no weekends or holidays. Benefits include paid holidays and paid time off. Salary based on experience.
The Medical Assistant will work directly with patients, the physician, and other staff members in completing administrative and clinical tasks during and after office visits. The Medical Assistant is an integral part of our team and possesses strong communication and time management skills. You are the first and last point of contact during the patient visit.
Scope of duties to include but not limited to:
· Patient Check in/out.
· Answering and making phone calls.
· Accurately documenting patient messages in our EMR.
· Scheduling patient visits using our current EMR, eClinicalWorks.
· Entry of patient demographics and patient test results into EMR.
· Verification of insurance benefits.
· Confirming valid referrals are on file and applying them.
· Collection and entry of copays/balances.
· Collects/records vital signs and medication reconciliation in EMR and rooms patients.
· Prepare exam rooms, keeping them neat, clean and fully stocked.
· Responds to requests for patient related services such as test results, records requests, pre-certifications, and prior authorizations.
· Routing of faxed documents.
· Document scanning.
Job Requirements:
· Valid Medical Assistant Certification (Administrative or Clinical Medical Assistant Certification)
· High School Diploma, GED and/or vocational education preferred.
· Experience working in a medical office.
· Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
· Excellent customer service skills.
· Strong computer skills.
· Experience with eClinicalWorks preferred.
· Excellent organizational skills.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
· Must have the ability to always display a positive attitude, even during stressful situations.
· Involves sitting, standing, walking and reaching in addition to typing and answering phones.
· References are required.
