Job Responsibilities
Job Purpose:
Tri-County Technical College is seeking a highly skilled and collaborative American Sign Language (ASL) Adjunct Instructor who will be responsible for teaching ASL courses. Applicants should possess a desire to work in a collaborative student centered environment focused on learning and success. Job duties include teaching, improving and assessing student learning, developing/enhancing curriculum and instructional materials, using technology to deliver or support instruction, participating in faculty development programs, and attending/supporting co-curricular learning activities. Teaching assignments may include both day or evening classes, online classes or hybrid classes on multiple campuses or career center campuses.
The successful candidate will be required to start at the beginning of the Fall 2025 semester that start August 8, 2025. This is a part-time non-benefited vacancy, this is not a full-time vacancy. This is a face-to-face position.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Master’s degree in American Sign Language, Deaf Studies, linguistics, OR a master’s degree in any discipline, with demonstrated competence in American Sign Language.
Preferred Qualifications
One or more of the following: Advanced Plus on SLPI, ASLTA certification, or 5 years of experience using American Sign Language in a professional environment These come from the American Sign Language Teaching Association recommendations and track with our peer institutions in SC.
