Job Responsibilities
The Comprehensive Studies Department is seeking a highly skilled, innovative College Skills adjunct who will be responsible for teaching college and career readiness courses. Topics for college and career readiness courses might include habits of mind for success in college and work, locating and interpreting information, teamwork and problem-solving, and general college success skills. Applicants should possess a desire to work in a collaborative student-centered environment focused on learning and success for under-resourced populations.
Job duties include teaching, improving and assessing student learning, using technology to deliver or support instruction, and attending/supporting co-curricular learning activities.
The successful candidate will be required to start at the beginning of the Fall 2025 semester (August 11th 2025). This is a part-time benefited vacancy, this is not a full-time vacancy. The successful candidate will be required to teach face -to-face instruction at one of our Tri-County Technical College campuses in the Upstate of South Carolina, online instruction is not available for this role.

Successful candidates will also be individuals who demonstrate teaching comparable classes to non-traditional and at-risk populations at the community college or postsecondary training level, mentoring or coaching; ability to convey knowledge successfully to diverse learners; adaptability to students’ needs and to different teaching situations; ability and desire to motivate students; ability to work in teams and independently; have an interest in and commitment to promoting the cognitive and affective growth of students; experience teaching and supporting at-risk, underprepared, and/or under resourced students and students from diverse backgrounds.
