Job Summary:
The Sr. Systems Engineer will be responsible for domain administration and ensuring the stability and integrity of Microsoft-based computing environments. This role requires expertise in Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, DNS, and general IT infrastructure, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and maintain hardware and software systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Domain Administration & System Management:
- Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 and Azure environments, ensuring optimal performance and system health.
- Manage Microsoft Domain Administration, Active Directory, domain controllers, and DNS.
- Troubleshoot minor network connectivity issues, including NIC, cabling, and TCP/IP configurations.
- Perform hardware diagnostics, troubleshooting, and resolution for PCs and servers (including hard drives, memory, monitors, and power supplies).
- Manage system patches, upgrades, service packs, and hotfixes to ensure system availability, reliability, and security.
- Respond to trouble tickets from the Service Desk and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
- Oversee backup and recovery functions, ensuring that critical system data is protected and recoverable.
- Implement and monitor backup strategies and disaster recovery plans for all systems.
- Lead and mentor the systems engineering team, ensuring smooth operation of systems and responding to issues promptly.
- Ensure that there is always a designated lead engineer available during the 24x7x365 workweek for support at both WCF and DCF locations.
- Assist with project planning and team coordination to ensure deadlines and objectives are met.
- Continuously monitor system health, performance, and security, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.
- Create reports on system status, security, and performance for internal teams and management.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in systems administration and support within a Microsoft computing environment.
- Strong experience with Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert and Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate certification.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Domain Administration, Active Directory, domain controllers, DNS, and basic network technologies.
- Ability to troubleshoot network issues, including NIC, cabling, TCP/IP configurations.
- Experience in messaging system administration (e.g., email systems).
- Familiarity with PC and server hardware, and the ability to perform troubleshooting and repairs.
- Experience with other cloud-based platforms and services.
- Additional certifications related to systems engineering and IT infrastructure.
Certifications:
Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert.
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in system configurations, subsystem analysis, and repair/replacement procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of network and systems management tools and practices.
- Experience with backup solutions and recovery planning.
- Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting:Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve system and network issues quickly and efficiently.
- This position requires rotating shifts to cover the 24x7x365 operational support at WCF and DCF locations.

Salary : $118,400 - $162,000
