SUMMARY:
Responsible for living PepUp’s Mission, Vision, and Values with respect to co-workers, customers, vendors, industry associations, government agencies, and within the communities we serve to meet the strategic goals and objectives of the organization. This position is directly responsible for leading the supply planning and procurement functions for the Company’s retail and wholesale business divisions (including all propane and petroleum product lines) along with the Company’s wholesale trucking fleet transportation operations (Tri-Trucking) and the Company’s rail transportation operations (Mid-Atlantic Rail Services). This position will primarily focus on strategic sourcing of supply and procurement opportunities throughout our service areas through an in-depth understanding and working knowledge of the physical energy environment and financial markets in our region. Valued vendor and partner relationships while securing cost-effective and reliable supply alternatives are critical to ensure profitable sales and margin growth across our energy footprint. This position will oversee the strategic direction and planning for the department, be accountable for recommending and making valued decisions, manage department resources effectively, represent the organization with vendors and in community events, and lead the professional growth and development of the department’s staff.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate supply planning models and manage winter/summer supply planning scenarios.
- Collaborate and engage with Retail and Wholesale team operations to align customer demand and sales forecasts with supply points and sourcing alternatives.
- Lead and oversee supply contract development, negotiation, and execution with supply vendors for rail service operations and refinery-based service operations.
- Cultivate and manage supply vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective and reliable supply.
- Utilize physical and financial tools to minimize risk and enhance margin opportunities.
- Develop and implement strategy to capture supply discounts to ensure maximum profitability.
- Analyze and optimize strategic business solutions and plans for the wholesale trucking fleet transportation operations (Tri-Trucking) and the rail transportation operations (Mid-Atlantic Rail Services).
- Accountable for the financial performance of Tri-Trucking and Mid-Atlantic Rail Services.
- Ensure all administrative and operational functions within the assigned area of responsibility are efficient while ensuring continuous improvement processes are in place.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization including updates on priorities, market, goals, financials, risks, and opportunities.
- Collaborate with Director of Financial and Administrative Services on portal management, reporting, and data collection/management activities for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Collaborate with the safety department to ensure compliance with all internal safety measures and all applicable state and federal legal requirements.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work in a collaborative and professional manner with other leaders in the Wholesale & Logistic Services business division.
- Hire, train, and develop new and existing department staff. Work with Human Resources to coach and discipline as needed.
- Ensure goals and objectives are clear to department staff through effective communication and leadership. Inspire a shared vision and direction.
- Deliver results and challenge the process to ensure effective change is evaluated and implemented when warranted.
- Communicate with candor in a professional manner.

Qualifications
- 5 years' experience in supply planning and logistics management in the energy industry or a related field, preferably in the petroleum and/or propane industry with relevant market pricing experience, including the use of financial hedging instruments.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Transportation, Supply Chain or related field or relevant work experience preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in development of people.
- Strong industry knowledge of supply and logistic services processes.
- Proven interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, and public speaking presentation skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and risk assessment skills.
- Ability to solve complex energy supply issues in a valued manner to the benefit of the customer and the Company.
- Persuasive negotiation skills.
- Strong decision maker with exceptional time management and organizational planning skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in analytical and software applications such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
