SUMMARY:
Responsible for living PepUp’s Mission, Vision, and Values with respect to co-workers, customers, vendors, industry associations, government agencies, and within the communities we serve to meet the strategic goals and objectives of the organization. This position is responsible for supply planning, supply procurement, and supply pricing activities for the Company’s retail and wholesale business divisions (including all propane and petroleum product lines) under the Director of Supply Planning & Logistics. This position will work with and collaborate extensively with the operations’ teams leading the Company’s wholesale trucking fleet transportation operations (Tri-Trucking) and the Company’s rail transportation operations (Mid-Atlantic Rail Services). This analytical and data driven position will focus daily on strategic supply sourcing and pricing opportunities throughout our service areas through an in-depth understanding and working knowledge of the physical energy environment and financial markets. Valued vendor and partner relationships while securing cost-effective and reliable supply alternatives are critical to ensure profitable sales and margin growth across our energy footprint.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop supply planning models and perform winter/summer supply planning scenarios.
- Collaborate and engage with Retail and Wholesale team operations to align customer demand and sales forecasts with supply points and sourcing alternatives.
- Support and assist with supply contract development, negotiation, and execution with supply vendors for rail service operations and refinery-based service operations.
- Cultivate and manage supply vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective and reliable supply.
- Utilize physical and financial tools to minimize risk and enhance margin opportunities.
- Capture supply discounts to ensure maximum profitability.
- Ensure all administrative and operations functions within the assigned area of responsibility are efficient while ensuring continuous improvement processes are in place.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization including updates on priorities, market, goals, financials, risks, and opportunities.
- Support the development of strategic plans, budgets, financial forecasts, financial modeling, performance indicators, and supply target benchmarks.
- Work in a collaborative and professional manner with members in the Wholesale & Logistic Services business division.
- Conduct thorough research of historical supply and pricing data to analyze market trends to support decision making processes at the senior leadership level.
- Administer market pricing tools and daily market assessments.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by Director of Supply Planning & Logistics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or a related business field is preferred.
- 3 years' experience in business planning, financial analysis, supply planning or other related finance experience is required. Experience is desired in energy and financial markets.
- Proven interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and risk assessment skills.
- Must have a high level of initiative and be able to be self-directed.
- Ability to solve complex energy supply issues in a valued manner to the benefit of the customer and the Company.
- Exceptional time management and organizational planning skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in analytical and software applications such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and financial modeling development.
