Summary :

Responsible for overall shift safety, adherence to the detailed schedule, batch production, equipment operation, plant maintenance, and movement of finished goods and raw materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Directs floor operators throughout the designated shift to ensure efficient operation
• Drops, sterilizes, and operates filter presses
• Loads, operates, and monitors hydrolysis tanks
• Loading tanks with raw materials utilizing pumping, pouring, and scooping methods
• Batch processing, evaporations and other production related responsibilities as requested
• Maintains the cleanliness of the facility, equipment, and containers
• Operates a forklift, and pallet truck, as needed
• Assists with drum filling, following sterile guidelines, drum rolling and palletizing
• Creates labeling and materials movements through the BarCom system
• Follows special handling procedures and safety requirements when working with caustic, acidic and flammable chemicals
• Performs general repairs and minor maintenance as needed

Qualifications :

Education / Experience :

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 2-5 years manufacturing experience.

Language Ability :

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Math Ability :

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

Reasoning Ability :

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills :

Some computer skills may be needed.

Certificates and Licenses :

Fork Lift Operator Certificate within 3 months of initial start date

Supervisory Responsibilities :

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
