Summary Description
The High Voltage Training Supervisor is responsible for providing trade education, development and implementation of training activities related to the installation, maintenance and repair of high-voltage electrical systems to all levels with the high voltage team. This role will also provide supervision, mentorship and career guidance to Apprentices.

Duties and Responsibilities
Essential:
- Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M safety policies and procedures.
- Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M employment policies and procedures including standards of conduct and appearance to reflect positively on the Company.
- Provide oversight and direction to the employees in the apprentice program in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures.
- Coach, mentor and develop apprentices and provide career development planning and opportunities.
- Design, develop and deliver training programs for high-voltage electrical systems, including transformers, circuit breakers, and distribution lines. Using a variety of instructional techniques to deliver the training.
- In conjunction with the Safety & Training Director, conduct regular training sessions and workshops to ensure all employees are up-to-date with the latest safety protocols and technical skills.
- Maintains relationships with training partners to identify strategic training opportunities.
- Participate in interview and selection of Apprentices.
- Coordinates with high voltage team to identify training needs and create opportunities for professional development.
- Identify skill gaps between high potential talent for succession planning; leverage gap analysis to determine learning priorities.
- Manage the training budget and monitor efficiency of training ensuring optimal return on investment.
- Supervises assigned personnel to maximize career development for employees including timely and accurate performance evaluations.
- Inspect, test, and troubleshoot high-voltage electrical systems to ensure they are operating safely and efficiently.[AB1]
- In conjunction with the Training and Development Specialist, provides detailed records of training activities, employee progress, and ensures employees training records are up to date.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate high-voltage activities and ensure seamless operations.
- Networks with other training professionals especially within the High Voltage industry.
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, statutory regulations, and federal and state codes.
- Performs special projects assigned.
Job Requirements
Skills/Education:
- Minimum of 8 years in the High Voltage Electrical Trade.
- Minimum of 6 years in a management or supervisory role.
- Extensive experience with High Voltage Electrical Systems
- Proven experience in training and supervising technical staff.
- Ability to work well in a team environment as well as execute projects and assignments independently.
- Strong Knowledge of the NEC and Utility Standards and Protocols.
- OSHA 10hr or 30hr Card (OSHA 30hr Card Preferred).
- Patience and the ability to effectively train and mentor staff.
- First Aid, CPR, AED Certification preferred.
- Awareness of applicable federal, state, and local regulations for the High Voltage and Testing industry.
- Ability to recognize hazards and recommend corrective action.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
- Excellent computer literacy including advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize to meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multi-task various job responsibilities simultaneously.
- Ability to work and travel to jobsites, including overnight stays, weekend and storm work, as needed.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license, ability to drive a company vehicle, and ability to meet driving eligibility requirements as outlined in Tri-M/EnerG Test Policies.
Physical Requirements:
- Working up to 40 hours/week, scheduled in 8 – 10-hour shifts.
- Sitting 6 to 8 hours/day.
- Lifting weights of 0 to 30 lbs. from floor to above shoulders.
- Repetitive use of hands for writing, typing, data entry, and filing.
- Vision adequate for daily and consistent computer use and reading.
- Hearing adequate for phone use.
- Standing and climbing 4 to 6 hours/day.
- Kneeling, lifting, reaching above shoulders, and bending 4 to 5 hours/day.
- Balance adequate for continuous climbing of ladders, scaffolds, and lifts and for working from heights.
- Environmental factors may include working in temperature extremes of 0° F to 100° F up to 8 hours inside or outside and atmospheric exposure to dust, gases, fumes, and odors within the Permissible Exposure Limits (PEL).
- Special hazards include exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and potentially explosive hazards.
- Personal protective equipment includes use of hard hat, safety glasses, protected-toe boots, and appropriate gloves for the task. Equipment on an "as needed" basis may include fall protection, dust mask, respirator, hearing protection, arc flash protective gear, and dielectrically insulated gloves and/or sleeves, etc.
- Ability to visit construction jobsites including walking on uneven terrain, occasionally climbing, stooping, squatting and exposure to temperature extremes and the “elements”.
Salary : $90,000 - $115,000
