What are the responsibilities and job description for the SolidWorks Designer-Lead position at Tri-Mation Industries?
Tri-Mation has a great opportunity for an experienced Lead SolidWorks Designer, with 4-8 years leading projects and teams, in machine building in the automation industry to join our team. You need to have a collaborative mindset and want to positively work as a team; you know how to work independently but also have self-awareness to ask for help when needed; you need to be hungry to learn and be proactive. This is a lead design role which will coordinate the work of the Design team on larger projects with multi designers and work on designs.
The ideal candidate must have : 1) SolidWorks experience in the automated industry; 2) Experience and working knowledge of SolidWorks, GD&T, MS Office, and other project tracking modules; 3) 4-8 years experience leading design teams with strong skills in prioritizing time and resources, communication, handling projects, troubleshooting;4) Ability to plan, develop, schedule, and coordinate in-depth and up-to-date technical knowledge;
Duties and Responsibilities include 1) D evelopment and implementation, prioritization of work and execution of projects delivered on-time, within the scope and on budget; 2) Conceptualize and design specialty machines; 3) Customer contact from kick-off to design approval; 4) Oversee program needs, customer expectations and project add-ons from beginning to end; 5) Track timeline and budgets; monitor progress; 6) Develop BOM from the design; 7) Research and select sensors, and other purchased components; 8) Design with part variation and tolerancing in mind; 9) Design for manufacturability using machining techniques; 10) Create related engineering documentation; 11) Be an active team player to support, accept responsibility and collaborate with the team; have effective skills in interpersonal communication, problem solving, critical thinking, empathy, and building relationships; and use independent judgment, creativity, and initiative; 12) Travel less than 5%; same day and overnight; may have occasional international travel; 13) May mentor interns and co-op students.

Salary : $60,000 - $100,000
