Tri Pointe Homes is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic individual to join our talented group as Director of Marketing Operations.


Position Highlights: The Director of Marketing Operations at Tri Pointe Homes will be a pivotal leader on our national marketing team responsible for overseeing the execution of all marketing operations functions to ensure they align with and optimize our premium lifestyle brand positioning and overall business objectives. This role requires a strategic and highly experienced homebuilder marketing professional who can drive operational excellence, optimize processes and implement innovative strategies to enhance our marketing presence across 17 geographic divisions. You will work closely with the National VP of Marketing, National VP of Sales Operations, other home office teams, and division marketing teams to develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies and programs that drive qualified leads, increase revenue, enhance customer experiences, and strengthen our reputation in the markets we serve.


As the Director of Marketing Operations you will be developing, coaching and collaborating with our division marketing teams, ensuring that our brand marketing campaigns, programs and local new home community marketing aligns with the company’s strategic goals and achievement of division business plans. This position requires an influential, passionate marketing leader with a proven track record of success in all aspects of homebuilder marketing.

Primary Role: The Director of Marketing Operations is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to Tri Pointe’s 17 division marketing teams across the country. You will ensure consistent brand execution, support local marketing efforts, quality lead generation, conversion to retail store visits, on-brand presentation of new home communities, new home galleries and model homes, onsite customer experience, design studio marketing and referral marketing that enhances Tri Pointe Homes’ market share. This role involves a blend of homebuilding and retail expertise, relationship building, coaching and influencing, operational savvy, marketing analysis and innovative problem solving.


Position Responsibilities:

Leadership
  • Serve as a key leader in the recruitment, hiring, evaluation, training, and development of high-performing division marketing teams focused on brand execution tailored to local market needs, quality lead generation, conversion to retail store visits, presentation of new home communities, new home galleries and model homes, onsite customer experience, design studio marketing and referral marketing.
  • Foster a positive, achievement-oriented work culture that aligns with Tri Pointe Homes’ values, vision, and leadership competencies.
  • Ensure compliance with marketing and legal policies, internal controls, and best practices across division marketing activities.
  • Oversee the creation and delivery of marketing operations onboarding, training sessions, workshops, and coaching to enhance the skills and capabilities of both home office and division marketing team members.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to division marketing team members, collaborating in the setting of clear performance goals and offering constructive feedback to drive continuous improvement and career development opportunities.
  • Stay at the forefront of homebuilding marketing trends. Evaluate and recommend new marketing programs that enhance the company’s marketing capabilities, streamline operations, and improve customer engagement.

Marketing Operations
  • In collaboration with the National VP of Marketing, and home office leaders, develop and execute marketing operations programs, best practices, templates and tools that align with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Visit each division 1-2 times per year, meet with the division marketing team, tour communities, the design studio and key competitor communities to provide feedback, resources and problem solving.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing operations, using data-driven insights to optimize return on investment and enhance effectiveness.
  • In partnership with the National VP of Sales and division VPs of Community Experience, analyze community marketing performance and develop action plans and support for community openings, underperforming communities and community close out strategies.
  • Develop guidelines, templates and toolkits for the planning, budgeting and presentation of community new home galleries, model home merchandising, community marketing window, community amenities, community marketing events and real estate broker/agent marketing programs. Improve effectiveness and efficiency of onsite community marketing execution, ensuring consistency and alignment with Tri Pointe brand positioning, identity and voice while showcasing local lifestyle and preferences.
  • Serve as the interim marketing leader for new homebuilding divisions, collaborating with the division president, leveraging home office marketing resources and external partners to develop and execute initial division and community marketing plans, seamlessly transitioning to the division marketing team over time as team members are hired and trained.
  • Coach division marketing teams on the development and successful visioning, placemaking and execution of large, planned communities, including master marketing programs with guest homebuilders.
  • Ensure that all marketing touchpoints, from national brand marketing campaigns to local community experiences, reflect Tri Pointe Homes’ premium lifestyle brand and are effectively translated and executed at the local level, supporting community engagement and sales efforts. Foster a culture of collaboration, ensuring that marketing initiatives are integrated and supported across all departments.
  • As a key member of the marketing leadership, share innovative ideas and examples for the evolution of brand marketing, campaigns, promotions, digital products, marketing analysis, templates and tools. Provide feedback to the National VP of Marketing and home office marketing team on community marketing needs and opportunities.

Customer Focus and Collaboration
  • Serve as the voice of the customer, ensuring that community marketing communications and retail experiences are aligned with customer needs and preferences.
  • Leverage extensive knowledge of homebuilding marketing trends and collaborate with other members of the home office marketing team, as well as cross-functional teams, to bring a deep understanding of Tri Pointe Homes’ markets, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape, ensuring the successful and timely execution of marketing initiatives rolling out to division marketing teams.
  • Communicate regularly with senior management, keeping them informed of marketing operations opportunities, challenges, progress, and support needs.

Planning, Analysis & Reporting
  • Study consumer research reports, market trends, and qualitative feedback to identify opportunities for marketing operations innovation and growth.
  • Stay abreast of retail and homebuilder marketing best practices, competitive activities, and industry developments, applying insights to enhance Tri Pointe Homes’ marketing operations strategy and execution.
  • Provide detailed review of division marketing plans, budgets and results, sharing actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Establish and maintain a thorough understanding of key metrics and business indicators, using this knowledge to drive strategic decisions and improve overall marketing operations effectiveness, scalability and efficiency.

Position Qualifications:

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications in marketing or business is a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in homebuilder marketing, with exposure to new home sales preferred.

Skills and Abilities
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with a track record of building and leading successful homebuilder marketing teams in a growth environment.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to develop and execute marketing operations strategies in dynamic markets.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Solid knowledge of homebuilder marketing strategy, brand identity, and innovative community marketing execution across digital and physical channels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, marketing automation, website CMS, and marketing project management tools like Asana.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver clear, persuasive brand marketing presentations and coach others in doing the same.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and metrics to drive informed marketing decisions.
  • Passion for brand building and a deep understanding of consumer behavior, market trends, and competitive dynamics.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, develop and influence high-performing division marketing teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to consistently set and meet goals and deadlines, both individually and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:
  • The position requires a mix of office-based work and field visits, including sitting, walking, standing, and occasional project site surveying.
  • Frequent travel by car or plane to visit division offices, new home communities, or attend conferences and seminars (approximately 40% of the time).
  • The role may involve exposure to various environmental conditions, including hot, cold, wet, dry, and dusty conditions, depending on the weather and stage of production at project sites.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Base Salary: The expected base salary range for this position is between $162,000 - $208,000 per year, depending on experience and skillset. Base Salary is paid bi-weekly, every other Friday.
  • Bonus: This position is eligible for an annual performance-based cash bonus. Bonuses are earned, calculated and paid in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Company’s applicable incentive plan document.
