You can earn between: $55,000 - $80,000 annually based on experience (Pay Type: Hourly).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Repairs: Perform assigned tasks for residential properties, including basic carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and painting work.
- Grounds Maintenance: Keep walkways, entryways, and outdoor areas clean and clear of debris, mud, ice, and snow. Maintain litter-free grounds and parking areas.
- Preventive Maintenance: Assist with checking smoke detectors, emergency lights, light bulb replacements, HVAC filters, cleaning dryer vents, gutters, and exterior light timers.
- General Maintenance: Clear drainage areas, repair fences, remove obstacles, and place appropriate signage as needed.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers to assess their needs, make recommendations, and manage expectations about project scope and costs.
- Materials & Equipment Management: Transport, load, and unload appliances, furniture, and supplies. Maintain tools, materials, and work areas in a neat and organized manner.
- Curb Appeal Assistance: Support management with improving curb appeal by preparing model units and setting up banners, signs, or decorations.
- Emergency Response: Perform after-hours and emergency work as required, following all company policies and safety standards.
- Professional Standards: Uphold a professional image, ethical practices, and adherence to company policies while safeguarding resources and assets.
- Customer Experience: Create lifelong customers by delivering exceptional service and ensuring projects exceed expectations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- 3-5 years of professional experience as a maintenance technician or high-level handyman, specializing in home repair and maintenance tasks, including carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, and drywall.
- Preferred candidates will have experience in residential, multifamily, and commercial projects.
- Proficient in operating various hand-held tools and devices.
- Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook) are necessary, along with the ability to quickly learn additional software programs as needed for the role.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Physical Demands:
- Employee is frequently required to travel to various properties to oversee maintenance projects within the City of Charlotte, NC.
- Daily movements include sitting; standing; reaching; bending; kneeling; and climbing ladders; operating computers and other office equipment; moving about the properties; and attending on-site meetings and off-site meetings.
- Employee must be able to exchange information in person, in writing, and via telephone.
- Employee must occasionally transport up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
- The employee works indoor and outdoor and is frequently exposed to weather extremes. The employee may occasionally be subjected to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals (e.g., cleaning solutions, solvents, insecticides), and skin irritants. The employee may be required to use goggles, gloves, masks, lumbar support belts, safety boots, and other personal protective equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Employees must have access to 24 hour reliable phone & internet service. Employees must also have reliable transportation to and from work, as well as, to get to and from multiple work locations based on business needs and assignments. Employee is responsible for providing own basic hand tools.
- Position may require employees to work overtime, nights and weekends when needed or in the case of an emergency.
